While raising bilingual daughters, I spent decades researching the complexities of the French language and developing pages to overcome specific challenges in learning French. This culminated in the Méthode De Lucien which targets specific skills particular to foreigners learning French, in an efficient and accessible format. The Méthode De Lucien provides a comprehensive phonics system that demystifies the complexity of French phonemes vs graphemes and contrasts pairs of sounds to further refine the ear.

As a teacher of English, I need to know how English works, its sounds, letters, sentences, and history. As a learner of the French language, I want more than just drills and memorization to help me become truly and academically fluent. Méthode De Lucien offers the foundations of French in much the same way that I teach English. It gives me phonemic and phonological awareness that will help me understand the sounds and the feel of the French language. Méthode De Lucien really understands how a student can learn a language and offers those deep foundational skills that can last well beyond bilingualism and extend into biculturalism.

I studied with a French tutor from the Méthode De Lucien program to push myself to the next level with approaching exams. The tutor was excellent, and the method both progressive and targeted to my needs. I augmented my level, scoring the highest marks possible on my Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) and a 2+ on the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI).
